Instruments for pattern-based planning of hybrid value creation and work for the delivery of smart services (IMPRESS)

Change of the working system from product manufacturer to a smart service provider

Currently, manufacturing companies in the mechanical and plant engineering sector are increasingly forcing the transition from product manufacturer to service provider. Digital services - so-called smart services - are becoming the focus of companies, particularly as a result of digitization. Smart services are based on the evaluation of large volumes of data provided by intelligent, communication-capable machines and systems (smart machines).

However, the resulting systems of hybrid value creation and work differ fundamentally from the systems already established today. However, the resulting systems of hybrid value creation and work differ fundamentally from the systems already established today. The overall objective of the project is to enable companies to systematically complete the transformation from product manufacturer to smart service provider. Methods and tools are being developed that enable companies to design their value creation and work systems in such a way that they can plan, develop and offer innovative smart services, develop and offer innovative smart services.

This is based on a socio-technical approach with the dimensions of people, organization, business and technology. Transformations within these four dimensions are supported by solution patterns solution patterns that demonstrate proven partial solutions in the design of value creation and work systems.
