The technology network “it's OWL” – short for Intelligent Technical Systems OstWestfalenLippe – is an alliance of 200 businesses, universities and other partners. Named as a Leading-Edge Cluster by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung, BMBF), it is involved in 47 research projects to develop intelligent technical systems and make Industry 4.0 a reality.
OstWestfalenLippe is “at the top of North Rhine-Westphalia” – not just in geographical terms, but commercially too. As one of the strongest production areas in Europe and named as a Leading-Edge Cluster by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), high-tech from OWL makes a contribution to safeguarding production in Germany.
